This gorgeous field of purple asters is located just off of Kit Carson Road in Taos, New Mexico. Each year this field turns gold when the sunflowers are in bloom. This year there was a surprise after the sunflowers faded. Purple asters filled this entire field and it turned a gorgeous lavender. Its the most asters I have ever seen blooming in one location. They are the last flowers of the summer in Taos. So this year I did two paintings of the same field; one of the sunflowers and one of the asters.
