This painting was done for my friend Lili
Hammond. It is a tangled mass of Texas
bluebonnets gently swaying in the breeze.
It looks and feels the way fields of flowers
look when the spring breezes move the
blossoms. I painted this piece when I
decided to return to Austin, Texas. The
gorgeous hill country where I now live has
massive amounts of bluebonnets in the
early spring. This painting almost evokes a
feeling of the ocean. When you snorkle
and look down under the surface of the
ocean you can see sea plants gently
swaying with the currents, just as you can
see flowers dance in the wind.
