This spring the Texas Hill Country was absolutely gorgeous! After the generous spring rains wildflowers were everywhere and they were stunning. This painting was inspired by the wildflowers that I saw on a photo shoot. The day we drove through the “Hill Country” to see the wildflowers was sunny and bright, causing the wildflowers to shimmer in the sunlight. There were places along the road and in the fields that had so many white prickly poppies growing, it actually looked like it had snowed flowers. The white prickly poppies were so tall that they actually poked their heads up through the top of the fences. The thistles and black eyed susans dotted the fields with color. All of these flowers were mingled with the abundant blue bonnets and Indian paint brush. It was a magical day filled with dazzling colors, which I have tried to capture on this canvas. Available in various sizes, prices vary.
