MOOTOPIA
This piece was painted from my imagination. It is my vision of a time that was more simple. A time that was peaceful. My soon to be husband, Rick Hewitt, and I have talked many times about finding a property in the country where we can produce our art in surroundings that are condusive to creativity. It is dream like and invokes a feeling of contentment. I have used a style that is reminisent of impressionism in this piece. The brightly colored flowers are what you see in the spring time in the Texas countryside. The old farmhouse is one that I saw along the road side near Spicewood, Texas, where I live.

"Jail Break" 12x12 Original Acrylic $300
This painting was inspired by watching cows
that always try to hang their heads over fences
to get the most delicious grass. It has always
amused me that they seem to think that "the
grass is always greener on the other side of the
fence". Somewhat like we humans tend to
think. I have painted a very contented cow in
an idyllic setting, that is contemplating whether
or not the situation will be better on the other
side of the fence.
"Sunflowers" 12x12 Original Acrylic $300
This tangled mass of sunflowers were along
the side of the road near Fredericksburg, Texas
one summer day. Their bright yellow colors
almost hurt my eyes against the deep green
grass. This gorgeous little clump of
wildflowers was far to beautiful to pass up with
my paint brush. It has always amazed me that
these sunflowers just grow all by themselves
along the Texas highways. This little painting is
a salute to this amazing group of dazzling
yellow sunflowers.
