These colorful morning
glories grow on the old bed
spring trellis in front of my
home. The day I painted them
they were almost translucent as
the sun lit them from behind. I
have tried to capture the delicate
feel of the petals.
Morning glories are very
fragile and delicate when they
grow. By using a transparent
glazing technique that I have
been experimenting with, I was
able to show this fragility in the
painting. The different colored
blooms looked as if a florist had
actually arranged them into a
bouquet on this particular
morning.
