This painting was inspired from taking a trip to northern New Mexico. On the day that we had planned to go to the Dixon Studio Tour, the first snowflakes of the season began to fall. It was very cold and snowing heavily, but we decided to go anyway. As we were having lunch the snow stopped and the sun came out. The moisture that was left on the golden leaves of the aspen trees made them look like pirates gold against the turquoise sky. As the snow melted the purple asters began to be visible once again. The display of colors that surrounded us was magical that afternoon and I knew that I would have to place these colors on a canvas when I returned home.
Small pieces – $13.00, large paintings – $25.00
