This painting is the combining of sunflowers, bachelor buttons and poppys that grew on the
mountainside at my home “Agua Viva Ranch” in Taos, New Mexico. It is my signature piece. It feels happy and bright like the days were in the New Mexico sunshine. It suggests the beautiful tangles of the wildflowers as they grew next to each other. You feel as if you are
immersed in the field with the flowers.

these delicate flowers. Their bright colors drew your eye to the place they were growing on the hillside. This was painted at my home in Taos, New Mexico.

This painting was done after a tour of the Napa Valley area in California. It is one of the first paintings I did in acrylics. It has interesting overlays of glazes, and was the beginning of my interest in translucent glazes and water colors.

This painting was started in my Taos garden. I had planted wildflowers on the hillside and
all through my lawn this particular spring. There were so many of them that I took photos of different groupings so I could paint later. This tiny little patch of pink and orange poppies next to the purple asters caught my eye. The color grouping was fascinating to me. I finished the painting later on in my gallery in Ranchos Plaza. It was a very tiny patch of flowers so I painted on a small canvas to capture the feeling of the flowers.
